Engagement pics done!! :)
In my post last week, i talked not only about my cake, but also that i had engagement pictures coming up. We got them done over the weekend and we had a blast! We ended up not being able to do the pictures on Thurs because of the weather, so we had to reschedule them. He couldn't do Fri and we couldn't do Sat, so we ended up doing them on Sun, Sept. 12. We kept them at the Jordan International Peace Gardens, which is were we planned on doing them Thurs, and met at 4 o'clock. It was the perfect day for pictures! It was in the 80's, sunny, and not windy at all. Our photographer Pete was hilarious! He kept joking around and being silly to make us laugh and was very laid back and fun and super easy to talk to and get along with. He had tons of great ideas but also asked for our input and if we had any poses we would like to try. We didn't really have any ideas of our own and were fine going along with the great ideas that he had. It was so fun and made me so excited to get to start designing the invitations! I can't wait until Pete has the pictures finished and gives them to us! I am so excited to see how they all look! :D
The Official Cake!!
Hello everyone! So as i said in my last blog, i had a meeting with the Heritage Gardens cake lady last Monday, Sept. 6. I went with my mom and we met with her at Heritage Gardens at 10 am. We were shown into her office and told she would be right with us. While we waited, we were given some books to look through with tons of different cake designs. I was certain i already knew what i wanted, but decided to look through them anyway, just for fun. In the 2nd book i found a vintage styled cake with draped lace on it, made from fondant. I immediately fell in love with it and felt that it fit my dress perfectly. When Cindy came in, she first went over flavors. I kept with the flavors i had been thinking of, which was: Red velvet for the top tier, Key lime for the second tier, and Snickerdoodle for the bottom tier. I am also sticking with the square twisted look that i had liked from the start, (and previously posted a picture of.) When she asked what design, I decided i wanted to go with the vintage lace design instead of the design i had thought i wanted. I don't plan on using the flowers that were shown in the design pic, because they don't match my colors and weren't a huge hit with me anyways. Not sure yet what i'll put on instead, but i have a few ideas. :)

More things checked off my To-Do list!
All right, so i decided to do a little update blog on how some before mentioned wedding plans are finally progressing. Today i finally called the temple to change our sealing time from 12:20 to 11:40. We realized when we finally sat down and wrote out an outline as to how the day was going to go, that we may want to give ourselves just a bit more time in case pictures go a bit longer, or something like that. We have been talking about for quite a few weeks now but just kept forgetting to call. I made sure that i got it done this morning before i did anything else. I also finally called the lady who does the wedding cakes through Heritage Gardens to set up and appointment to see her cake designs and test one more time the cake flavors i have picked to make 100% sure they are the ones i want. We will meet with her on monday at 10 am and i am super excited to get the cake finally done with so it can be checked off my list. lol. I am also super excited because Nick and I have our engagement pics session this thursday at 5:30. I am super excited to finally being doing engagement photos. This should be so much fun! I am also pretty sure that i have finally settled on which photo booth company i wanna use, and will let you know which one it is once i have officially booked them. Haha cause you never know, i could change my mind since its not 100% made up yet. ; ) I will blog again thursday or friday after the photo session and let you know how everything went. ttyl!
