Day 2

A photo of something you ate today.

Ok, so, the amazing food i'm blogging about for day 2 is...Pineapple! It is one of my favorite things to eat so, since I had some a little after lunch, i decided that i wanted it to be the delicious item that i blogged about. Haha and no, i did not take a picture of the actual piece of pineapple I ate.  I wanted a more impressive looking picture and so stole this one off google. lol. ;D  Such a yummy treat!

Day 1

Alright so its day 1 of the blog challenge; a picture of me and how my day went. The picture i picked is from my honeymoon, the day we got on the cruise ship. (The credit of the pic choice goes to my dear hubby, he thought it was a fun one. Haha and he also says he is the one INSIDE the knight costume. ;D)  My day today was very long and slow. The first half of my day was spent driving back from Jackson Hole, Wy. Nick and I had driven up there early Sat to check in on my family's condo and to turn of the water my dad leaves trickling in the winter so the pipes don't freeze. We had to make it back by 1:45 because i had to work, which meant that we had to get up at 6 am and drive 4 and half hours home. It was very tiring and then I had to go right to work. Phew...it made for a long day. Work luckily was fairly busy so it went by quickly but also wore me out more. Haha.... It is very nice to be back home now, though this week will continue to be busy because my cousin gets married this Saturday. Right now Nick and I are relaxing together in out room watching tv as i blog, which is very nice. :  ) So that is my thrilling Day 1 of the blog challenge! Til tomorrow!

Life in the New Year!

Alright, so now that the job hunts and doc visits has been updated on, I will now fill you in on everything else that's been going on since i last posted in Dec. I received my diploma in Jan which was very exciting to see and definitely made graduating feel all official. lol. Also in Jan, i had a 3 year friendship come to end. We had been growing apart for the last 6 months or so, so while not unexpected, it was still sad. Oh, I also forgot to put in my last post from Dec, that on our very first week in our ward as a newly married couple, we were immediately called to be nursery leaders. It wasn't at all a surprise, and of course we said yes, but i wold be lying if i said i was happy at all to have this calling. I am sure God has his reasons and we will learn from this and be blessed, but really all i feel like right now is a glorified babysitter. We got assigned the 18 month olds (and have about 8 of them so far), which is hard because they really aren't old enough to teach a lesson, so the last hour is hard because we move to a classroom with no toys and are expected to keep the kids busy and entertained, which doesn't work at all. Snack time and coloring can only do so much. I decided to start bringing my own toys form now on to give them something to do after coloring time while we wait for church to end and their parents to pick them up. Its also hard because, being shut in the nursery room the whole rest of church after sacrament meeting, I don't get to meet the people of the ward, which, being brand new, would be really nice to be able to do.

Nick and I are loving married life still and can't believe it has already been 3 months. We are both doing well at work and haven't had a single problem with our renters, who are great. They always pay on-time and never have or cause any problems. They are a really nice family. : ) Nick's brother Chris, who had come home in Nov off his mission for hernia surgery, went back out Jan 18 which was great, because he had struggled with deciding if he really wanted to go back out. He has just recently been asked to baptise someone, which really helped him feel great about his decision to go back out. We are all so proud of him!  My sister Alli turned 18 in Jan and will be graduating high school this year which is exciting, going on in the fall to play volleyball at the University of Utah. It will be so fun to get to go to her games! Also, my family has planned a trip to Hawaii in April, which I am so excited for! We are going to get to visit Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural center, which will be such a cool experience. I have also finally sorted all my wedding gifts, and returned almost all the ones we don't need, though there are still a few that I'm not sure where they came from. I'm glad to finally have that done though so i don't have to think about it anymore. lol. I also cut my hair to above my shoulders in Jan because it was very damaged and i wanted to give it a chance to re-grow healthier. Haha while i have been enjoying it, i do miss long hair, which i know Nick does too. He has never said anything bad about my short hair, but I know that he likes long hair better. Luckily for him, i always planned to grow it back out after cutting it, since there is more one can do with long hair over short. ; ) Hope everyone is having a great 2011 so far!

Update on the job hunts and Doc visits

Haha wow its been a little while since I last posted. I just got really busy and when i had down time, always had other things that i wanted to do instead, lol. So on the job hunting front, nothing yet... Its very frustrating continually applying to places and never getting the jobs. I have gained more hours at the job i have now (with the possibility for more), which is awesome, but it would still be nice to find something to fill the days I don't work. Have free time Tues, Fri, and Sat is just a bit much for me and I find it hard to always fill the days with productive things. It would be nice to be a bit busier now that i don't have school to do that for me. I am also hoping that I may just eventually be able to work full time at the place I'm at now, which would be my top choice, but until that happens, i will continue to search for another job to fill the void. lol.
On the medical front, the visit to the the Neurologist's office turned up nothing. My MRIs were completely clean of anything big or small in my brain or veins that could be causing my migraines. While that's good news, its also disheartening because I would love to figure out why I get these constant headaches. They simply prescribed me new medication to take, one of which I'm suppose to take twice a day to prevent headaches. I keep searching for answers though, because i don't want to have to take medication for the rest of my life. I also went to an ENT doctor to see if it could be my sinus' but that also came up with nothing. My sinus' are 98% clear and the tiny mucus that is in a few, is not enough to cause headaches and its also not my septum, which is almost 99.9% straight. My next course of action may be to be tested for possible allergies that could cause headaches as a side effect of when i eat or come into contact with it. I have also stopped eating chocolate, because i found out that my maternal grandmother gets migraines when she eats chocolate. I (sadly) have found that it did reduce the number I get a week, though they do still occur at least once a week, instead of 2 or 3 a week. I also discovered that my paternal grandmother got migraines when she was stressed, which probably explains the remaining headaches and means i can to nothing about them but treat them when they come. Hopefully that's not the case and its something else. Though probably not, knowing my luck. At least all these doc visits are narrowing things down. Also, i began t see a chiropractor to reduce the tension in my neck and shoulders, since often when i get headaches, pressure builds in my neck. As i have been in a few car accidents, it was felt this could be a possible antagonist of my migraines as well. Hopefully i eventually figure something out and can get my headaches down to just one a month or so. That would be pure heaven!

Job hunting and Doc visits.

Hey Everyone! I can't believe that Christmas is already here and then it will be a new year! Thats so crazy! Time has just flown by! Since i wrote last, I finished up with school at the U of U dec. 17 and should have my deploma mailed to me in the next little bit. I graduated with a BA in history and haven't 100% decided if i wanna teach with it yet. I signed up the other day with Granite district to try subing to see if i would like being a teacher. Haven't heard from them yet, so we shall see. Also gonna try signing up with canyons district too since thats closer to where i live. I have also been applying for jobs this month since i can work more being done with school. I am unable to work full time as an Ortho assistant for my dad, so i need a second job. I really HATE job hunting, but i know its necessary. Hopefully i find something that pays decent since Nick and I have a house to worry about. Also, yesterday i went for an MRI to try and figure out what is causeing the horrible migraines i get a few times a week. I know its better if they find nothing, but i sorta hope something small is there that will be the cause of my probs and an easy fix. If not then its a continuing line of elimination to figure out what the problem is and taking preventative meds to try and help me have less a week. I hate that i have to take something everyday and hope its not for the rest of my life. The MRI went well and was pretty easy, the only clitch being when they tried to do the IV in my right arm, my vein immediately collapsed (which is a nice sore bruise now) and so they had to try the left. That worked, but it left both arms nice and sore yesterday. Man do i hate IVs, haha... should get the results in a few days and so i will try to post an update. Thats really all for now. Sorry about no pics, i got them on facebook and then got to lazy to do it again. Haha.... Until next time, Hope everyone has a great Christmas!! :D

The first Month. :)

Hey everyone! Nick and I have been married for one month today and its been great! Our honeymoon was a cruise to the Western Caribbean and it was amazing! We stopped in the Grand Caymans, Cozumel, and Belize. We sadly had to miss our last port due to rough waters from a hurricane. In the Grand Caymans we went snorkeling and swam with sting grays. It was so cool! we got to hold one and get pictures with it! In Belize we visited Mayan ruins and we got to climb to the top of one. It was amazing and so cool to see something so ancient. In Cozumel we just walked around and looked in shops. It was fun just hanging out on the ship as well and having all you can eat ice cream 24/7. Chocolate-strawberry swirl was my favorite. :) Now that we are home, we are living in Draper in his parents basement for a year while we rent out our own house. It has been good so far, and though it has taken a bit of adjusting to, to think of it now as home and my old house as my parents house, everything else has been going really well. Haha having to get up and extra 20 min for the drive is a bit hard, but hasnt been to bad. I am excited we already get to have a Christmas as a married couple so soon. I will try to upload pics sometime next week of the wedding and honeymoon. I can't this week because i am studying for a final. So ya, married life is going well so far and i will blog again with pics soon hopefully. :)
